You probably don't remember the conference where I cried. I do. You handed me a tissue and said, "He's doing really well. And so are you." Nobody had said that to me in months.

You didn't ask why there were two emergency contacts with different last names. You didn't raise an eyebrow at the different pickup schedules. You just learned the system and made my kid feel normal when nothing else was.

I know you're underpaid and overwhelmed and there are 24 other kids in that room. But you chose mine for a moment of attention that I will genuinely never forget. Thank you for seeing the whole picture.
