Our Privacy Commitment

At Mamentum, we understand that trust is everything — especially for single moms seeking genuine community and support. Your privacy isn’t just our policy; it’s our promise.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide to Us

  • Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, location (city/state), and profile photo.
  • Profile Details: Information about your parenting situation, each child’s first name and birth date (no photos), interests, and preferences.
  • Community Interactions: Messages, event RSVPs, group participation, posts, and content you choose to share.
  • Wellness Check-Ins: Your mood selection (Strong, Steady, Tired, Stressed, or Numb) and any optional private note you add. This data is encrypted and is never visible to other users.
  • Verification Information: Identity documentation when required for community safety features.

Information We Collect Automatically

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, app version, and crash reports.
  • Usage Data: Features used, screens visited, and session duration — used only in anonymized, aggregated form.
  • Location Data: Approximate location (city/region) for community matching. Precise location is never collected unless you explicitly enable it for a specific feature.
  • Communication Metadata: Timestamps and delivery status of messages. Message content is not read unless reported for safety review.

What We Do Not Collect

We never collect your children’s photos, school information, or contact details. To make the app work for you, a child profile holds a first name, birth date, and any optional details you choose to add (such as interests, allergies, or sizes); those optional details are encrypted, and every child profile is restricted by access controls to your account alone. We do not track your precise location by default. Your mood and wellness data is never used to profile you for advertising, sold to any third party, or shared with any other user.

3. Sharing Your Information

With Other Community Members

We share only what’s necessary for community connection:

  • Your first name and profile photo in matches and group circles.
  • General location (city/region) for local connections.
  • Children’s age ranges — never names, photos, or specific birthdates.
  • Content you choose to share in community discussions or events.

Your mood check-in history and wellness notes are never shared with other community members, circle moderators, or any third party, under any circumstances.

With Service Providers

We work with trusted providers who are contractually bound to protect your data:

  • Cloud Infrastructure: Supabase — encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3).
  • Analytics: Aggregated, anonymized metrics only. No individual behavioral profiling.
  • Communications: Email delivery and push notification services.
  • Payments: Any paid features are billed through the Apple App Store. We never see or store your card details.

Legal Disclosures

We may disclose information when required by law or to protect safety, including:

  • Response to valid legal process (subpoenas, court orders, law enforcement requests).
  • Protection against fraud, security threats, or abuse of the platform.
  • Investigation of serious Terms of Service violations.
  • Protection of the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.

We Never Sell Your Data

Mamentum will never sell, rent, trade, or license your personal information to advertisers, data brokers, or any third parties for their own commercial use. This includes your mood data, wellness notes, and any information about your children. Your trust is not for sale.

4. Data Security

Technical Protections

  • Encryption in Transit: TLS 1.3 for all data moving between your device and our servers.
  • Encryption at Rest: AES-256 for all stored data, including mood and wellness records.
  • Access Controls: Row-level security restricts every account to its own data, so other members and moderators cannot see your private records. Mamentum staff access is limited to what is necessary to provide support and operate the service.
  • Dependency Monitoring: We monitor our software dependencies for known vulnerabilities and apply security updates.
  • Incident Response: We will notify affected users within 72 hours of a confirmed data breach that may affect your personal information.

Your Role in Security

  • Use a strong, unique password and enable any available multi-factor authentication.
  • Keep your app updated to receive the latest security patches.
  • Report suspicious activity or unauthorized access immediately to support@mamentumapp.com.
  • Be thoughtful about what you share in community spaces — groups are visible to other verified members.

5. Your Rights and Choices

In-App Controls

  • Profile Management: Update or delete profile information at any time in Settings.
  • Mood History: Delete your entire mood check-in history at any time: Settings → Wellness → Delete Mood History. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
  • Privacy Settings: Control who can find your profile, message you, or see your activity.
  • Notification Preferences: Choose exactly which notifications you receive and how.
  • Data Export: Download a machine-readable copy of your data yourself, any time, in Settings. You can also request one by emailing support@mamentumapp.com, fulfilled within 30 days.
  • Account Deletion: Permanently delete your account and all associated data. Account data is removed within 30 days; anonymized aggregates may be retained for platform analytics.

Legal Rights (GDPR / CCPA / PIPEDA)

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Delete your personal data (“right to erasure”).
  • Restrict or object to certain types of processing.
  • Receive your data in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

6. Community Safety

Content Moderation

To protect every mama in our community:

  • All reported content is reviewed by trained human moderators.
  • Reported messages may be retained for the duration of a safety investigation.
  • Automated tools help identify patterns of harmful content at scale.
  • Community guidelines are applied consistently and without exception.

Identity Verification

Certain features may require identity verification to protect the safety of our community. When collected, verification data is:

  • Stored separately from your public profile, with additional access controls.
  • Used exclusively for verification — never for advertising or third-party sharing.
  • Deleted after verification is complete, unless retention is required by law.
  • Never visible to other community members.

7. Children’s Privacy

COPPA Compliance — Adults 18+ Only

Mamentum is designed exclusively for adults 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account or shared personal information with us, please contact support@mamentumapp.com immediately. We will investigate and delete any such data within 48 hours.

Your Children’s Data

  • For each child you add, we store a first name and birth date so the app works for you (for example, your custody calendar and age-based community matching). We never collect children’s school information, contact details, or photos.
  • Your children’s names and details are visible only to you. Other members never see them — community features use only general age, never names.
  • No images of children are stored on Mamentum’s servers.
  • Optional child details you choose to add (such as interests, allergies, or sizes) are encrypted before storage.
  • You decide what, if anything, you share about your children with the community — we collect the minimum required for features to function.
  • Children’s age data is never used for advertising, sold to third parties, or included in any analytics profile.

8. Wellness & Mood Data

What We Collect and Why

Mamentum’s wellness features invite you to check in with yourself — selecting a mood from a 5-point scale (Strong, Steady, Tired, Stressed, or Numb) and optionally adding a private note called “One Thing.” This data exists to support your personal reflection, not to be analyzed by us or shared with anyone else.

  • Mood check-in data is encrypted at rest and restricted by row-level security to your account.
  • Your check-in history is visible only to you in the app — never to other users or group moderators. It is never used to profile you, and never shared outside Mamentum.
  • Mood data is never used to determine access to features, match recommendations, or community standing.
  • Mood data is never sold, licensed, or shared with any third party, including health insurers, employers, or advertisers.
  • You can delete your entire mood history at any time from Settings → Wellness → Delete Mood History. Deletion is immediate and permanent.

Wellness Content — General Support Only

The guided breathing exercises, reflective prompts, and wellness resources in Mamentum are designed to offer general emotional support to single mamas. They are not a substitute for individualized professional care.

Legal Notice — Wellness & Mental Health

Mamentum is a community platform, NOT a crisis intervention service, mental health provider, medical provider, legal advisor, or substitute for professional help of any kind.

Mamentum team members, social media managers, community moderators, and app administrators are NOT licensed counselors, therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, attorneys, social workers, or medical professionals of any kind.

All wellness content, mood tools, guided exercises, safety resources, hotline numbers, and referrals provided through Mamentum are provided strictly for INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.

Mamentum does not diagnose, treat, counsel, or advise on any mental health, psychological, medical, legal, or safety matter. Always consult a qualified professional for medical, mental health, legal, or safety decisions.

Mood Data Retention

Your mood check-in history is retained for as long as your account remains active, so you can track your own patterns over time. When you delete your account, all mood data is permanently purged within 30 days. You may delete your mood history at any time without closing your account — the two are independent.

9. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices, features, or legal requirements. When we make significant changes:

  • We will notify you via email and in-app notification at least 14 days before changes take effect.
  • We will post the updated policy with a revised effective date at the top of this page.
  • For material changes to how we handle mood, wellness, or health-related data, we will request your explicit re-consent before those changes apply to your data.
  • Previous versions of this policy are available upon request at support@mamentumapp.com.
